Part 3 of my Scandinavia series finishes in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Copenhagen started off wild with 10 shots for 100kr (roughly $20aud) x 3 rounds of fireball and tequila shots at our hostel bar, followed by a night of shenanigans and ending at 3am at a club with really young teenagers (or at least it felt like that) hahaha

We only really had one full day here because we decided to fly home early for Amsterdam Music Festival (which I don’t regret at all)! But here’s what we managed to pack in with some helpful suggestions from my Danish friend!

Day 7 // Shots

We landed around 9pm and made our way to our hostel (roughly 8€ one way via train from the airport).

To my surprise it was a seriously lit place with a bar and pumping music.

We dropped off our stuff and headed straight for unlimited pork ribs for dinner upon recommendation of a danish friend. HOWEVER, we don’t know whether it was the time of night or something else, but the pork was so dry and not juicy like expected.

We were sorely disappointed that it’s not even worth saying where we ate 🙁

But our night began when we went back to our hostel for drinks and they were so affordable compared to Stockholm and Bergen!

We made our way to Butcher – club afterwards. We definitely had a good night!

Day 8 // Nyhavn, royal fever and $A20 rides

These are little sandwiches made of rye bread and often a meat and vegetable garnishes. This was recommended by a friend and it was delicious and very affordable for roughly 17kr.

Nyhavn

Amalienborg palace (where the royals live)!

I definitely had a fangirl moment here because I love the Danish royals! Crown princess Mary is actually from Australia.

I even took a photo where the royals sent their children off for school. It was incredible! Haha

Next we took a guided tour of one of the palaces and it was explained to us that the design of the house is meant to be a crescendo from a more basic room all the way up to the grand ball room. My favourite room was the last room which was completely made out of marble. It was stunning!

Gardens

Copenhagen also has an abundance of beautiful gardens. We passed through one on our way to a food hall.

We ate at this foodhall but it was really expensive!

We ended up getting risotto that was equivalent to $20aud 😭

Souvenirs from Flying Tiger Copenhagen

I was very excited to get a tote bag that said “halløj from Copenhagen”! Right now it’s more decorative than useful but that’s ok haha it was roughly $2aud.

Tivoli

Our next stop was Tivoli (a famous theme park in Copenhagen). When we went it was just in time to be Halloween themed and it looked incredible. Unfortunately we didn’t buy a rides pass and rides were $20aud for one. It was just too expensive.

So we opted for a $5 aquarium and strolled around the park! I would definitely recommend going on rides if you can afford it.

Entry cost: 120kr for just entry, 250kr for rides and entry

Then we flew back to Amsterdam for AMF!! (more about that in a later post).
