As the plane started its descent into London, my excitement grew and the anticipation was palpable. I was about to start my Europe adventure!!
I couldn’t help but smile as I spotted The Shard from above and saw the green lands and sun rising behind us.
I took a 13h flight from KL to London first and I usually sleep well on flights, so I don’t know why this time I was very much in and out of sleep and did not solidly sleep through it. Maybe the seats weren’t too comfortable or the guy next to me definitely invaded my space (angry) haha but I do suggest night flights if possible. Heading into Malaysia on a day flight was quite hard because your body knows it should be awake, and sitting down the whole 8h can be boring.
But back to the flight, I made use of the movies on board! I watched Black Panther which I had wanted to watch since it came out, but time meant I couldn’t. And it did not disappoint.
I also watched Murder on the Orient Express. A fun crime investigative movie with a surprising ending. I loved the intrigue and mystery of each character.
I also started watching Red Sparrow, and I did not know what to expect haha. I watched halfway and expected my connecting flight from London to Berlin to have entertainment – but I was wrong so I don’t know when the next time will be for me to finish the movie 😩 (update: I was baited, there was no entertainment from London to Berlin)
Food was not bad either. I had the choice between satay or beef and potatoes. I opted for the beef and it was quite tasty for dinner on a plane. My only issue with late night flights is needing to wait for dinner before sleeping. And dinner came out at 130am after we left at 1130pm. So maybe that’s also why I didn’t sleep well 🤔
Breakfast was also not too bad – I had the English breakfast which consisted of beef, mushrooms, omelette and a muffin. It was great because I thought I slept through breakfast again 😅 after I saw that people had food already. But all good. It also meant I didn’t need to buy anything from the airport (I didn’t have any pounds). I was also able to take the muffin and bread away!
I then landed in London Heathrow airport and had to transfer over to the international connecting flights terminal. If I’m not mistaken I think terminal 5 is just for British Airways 😮 I had about 2 hours to kill and I decided to roam around the terminal and take some pics on my phone.
Also note that the free filtered water still tastes like tap water and is a bit gross if you are not used to it 😂 maybe I’ll buy some bottled water. Struggles when tap water is not the same around the world.
Something that struck me was how many flights there were heading out of London – truly the gateway to Europe. My eyes grew wider in awe, I thought “this could be me – travelling all around the world to all these places”.
So here I go, on the start of my travel journey! Stay tuned. First stop Berlin!!
